The Great at Marin Country Mart

In anticipation of fall, I’m taking a second look at my wardrobe and have always loved pieces from The Great. Now we can enjoy the store at Marin Country Mart.

Little Shucker on Fillmore

I’m a sucker for a seafood platter… and this location is so convenient. From the team behind The Snug, just a few blocks away, Little Shucker in Pacific Heights is sure to be a major hotspot when school is back in session.

Saylor’s in Sausalito

Can’t believe this, but I dined at Saylors for the first time last week! I’ve heard about this old-school Mexican restaurant in Sausalito for many years. The enchiladas were top-notch, the shrimp to die for, and the margaritas were heavenly. We sat on the back patio in perfect weather. I highly recommend it.

Party for the Parks

I rarely miss out-of-the-box events that support San Francisco’s outdoor spaces. On September 23, the Party for the Parks will be held at One Sansome. The cocktail event is put on by the SF Parks Alliance and is an integral part of helping keep our San Francisco parks and playgrounds magnate for our city youth and young at heart.

Trails Forever

Trails Forever on September 29 is “trail chic”. This year the event is a sit-down dinner in one of the Presidio’s original airplane hangers, perfect for the centennial anniversary of Chrissy Field aviation.

Riomar Shoes

Wait what?! Summer is over?! We just got started! These Riomar driving slippers make me think of sand and sun, and I love the interchangeable (and very monogrammable!) bearings that allow you to switch between your favorite colors, monograms, college, or Greek letters. They are perfect for the men in your life and also have a few women’s editions as well. From your boat to your morning coffee run, to a trip across the Golden Gate Bridge, these will keep you in a summertime mood until your pumpkin spice latte arrives.

Presidio Tunnel Tops

Okay, yes… this new Marina attraction is as cool as it has been built up to be - and worth the wait! A playground with the most spectacular view, food trucks to satisfy any craving, and extremely walkable - I highly recommend you check out the Presidio Tunnel Tops.

Trails Forever Dinner

Speaking of the Tunnel Tops… there is still a chance to purchase tickets to Trails Forever, taking place on September 30 at the Tunnel Tops! This incredible fundraiser supports the Parks Conservatory, and they put on quite a show. I’ve attended the event a handful of times in the past and have always been blown away by the party. By supporting the event, you get a once-in-a-lifetime chance to celebrate the parks in a private setting. Last year we bundled up, sipped cocktails, and enjoyed fabulous food stations in Fort Baker - just underneath the Golden Gate Bridge! This year, on its 20th anniversary, Trails Forever will celebrate 40 years of the Parks Conservatory and 50 years of the Golden Gate National Recreation Center. Grab your tickets now before they sell out!

Lee Neighborhood Theaters

After enduring so many COVID-related closures, I was thrilled when the Presidio and Marina Lee Neighborhood Theaters reopened. These small theaters add so much to our communities. I recently took our children to see Minions 2 on a Tuesday at 7 pm and it was such a delight! Whether it be the Lee Neighborhood Theater or another local theater near you - head back to the theater and see a show on the big screen! The option to buy out a theater for a birthday party or parent’s night out is the best.

Ancora SF

After learning more about the Water2Table Fish Company during the pandemic and stalking their Instagram, I was thrilled to see they were partnering with Chef Nick Anichini for this spectacular Mission District restaurant. My husband and I spent our 10th Anniversary dinner there and had RAVE reviews. Absolute must-haves are the smoked salmon gougers, the halibut crudo, and the plankton tagliolini… we sprung for the caviar service which was the best I’ve had in my life. And I (too bad for my husband), love caviar! Run, don’t walk to Ancora.
