From last year!

Gingerbread decorating, a holiday game, bags of arts and crafts, champagne, cocktails, cheese plates, pear tarts, the list goes on and on!

On December 5, 2020, the Junior Committee of the San Francisco Symphony held its 40th Annual Deck the Hall event- at home!  I’ve attended this event many times in the past. It’s all about dressing up in holiday attire, walking into the grand Davies Symphony Hall with your children, participating in the arts and crafts the Junior Committee has creatively put together, and then enjoying the larger-than-life performance of classic Christmas carols and songs from all over the world. I’ve included a few photos from past “Decks”, as many San Francisco residents refer to them. Funds raised from this event help enable the SF Symphony to fund music education in schools for the year ahead.

Of course, this year was a bit different!  Congratulations to Thayer Meicler who chaired the Virtual event this year- which was telecast on NBC on December 5th.  Sponsors of the event received a delivery the day before the event. The curated box included the most delicious treats from McCall’s Catering- which has gone above and beyond this year in bringing its special event touch into people’s homes.  Gingerbread decorating, a holiday game, bags of arts and crafts, champagne, cocktails, cheese plates, pear tarts… the list goes on and on!

If you missed the original performance, you can still catch a final airing on December 19 at 3:30  p.m. on NBC Bay Area. Tune in to make sheltering in place this holiday much more enjoyable.
